Well…  okay, so y’all know this is all I do for income.

I just checked my Web stats for this new hosting package and learned that I have an average of about 760+ daily visits, which is

GREAT!!!

but I’m only averaging one custom order sale per week and whatever BRS I can come up with.  Even as frugal as I am (and heavily behind on nearly all my bills), I cannot live on just a hundred bucks or so a week.  So, like it or not I’ll have to start putting ads on Ravelry again — fortunately they don’t bill until the end of the month.

The ads that I’ve put up rarely seemed to attract visitors who turned into customers, which is what I need.

So… I am putting it out to the brilliant designers in our midst to come up with a banner ad that will not only invite people to visit Knitivity, but encourage them to place an order

This is the space permitted for Forum banner ads; it is 728×90.   I inserted a border just so you could see it, but the border is on the page, not part of the image.  Right-click and save it to your hard drive.

and this is the logo that needs to appear somewhere on it;

it is a PNG file with transparency so you should be able to open a new layer and deposit it onto whatever else you put.   Or you can get the font named 39 Smooth and lay it out on your own and make it as large or small as appropriate for your design.

All designs need to be submitted before Saturday, August 4, and I will make my selection(s) and the one I like the best will be awarded a free skein of yarn to be selected during August.  If there is more than one that really slaps me up-side the head I will put them on rotation and each designer whose ads I use will get a skein.

Those who know me or my work have an idea of the kind of mood or essence in need to capture within that space.  It should be warm-and-inviting.   You may select any other images of yarns if you wish.
