Chatting with another dyer over on Facebook, she was saying she had to wind off skeins for dyeing. I mentioned the 3-skein electric winder I was given last Fall, with the digital counter I added to it this spring.

I went to the manufacturer’s Web page and was informed that they are no longer producing winders and swifts.   This, of course, makes me sad because I wanted to get one of their 2 skein swifts for winding up finished yarns.  Ben didn’t say why he stopped making them, nor did he divulge whether he’d sold the plans and production work to someone else.

But now I am doubly glad that I was given this model and got the counter when I did.  As a tool no longer in production, it will only increase in value as long as I take care of it.
