We Have Yarns!
Okay, so early last week I posted the Help Knitivity page to ask for help rebuilding the in-house inventory of yarns to start things flowing, after nearly two years of “dry spell”. And several of you stepped up and helped. Thank you!
This is the load that just arrived today (salt box there for visual comparison). One of the cones I had already ordered, but this is 8 cones that have been bought for me by you guys. I needed 50 for a tolerable 3-month cushion in case crap happens and my supplier leaves me high-and-dry like the last one did, so now I’m 8/50ths of the way to being “comfortable” with it… or about 1/5. If I pushed this pile through, it’s not even 2 weeks worth of work and income, so I need to keep turning these cones into more money to get more cones. This is a GREAT START, though, and i totally appreciate all the help. I want to have more cones in house or at least on the way before I run out of these cones.
The sock yarn nearly always comes on 3+ pound cones, so I was disappointed this lone sock cone is only 2 lb 10 oz, which isn’t even a dozen hanks to go out. That sucks. But it is mostly spoken for, as is most of the Primo Lace.
But there are 4 cones (almost 10 pounds) of the Knitterman’s Daily Fingering, and 2 cones of the Knitterman’s Daily Lace — and since only the first two hanks off of each cone is spoken for, by those who bought them for me, the rest will be turned into BRS immediately to keep the money flowing. That means whoever latches onto this weekend’s newest BRS yarns will be the first to try out these two new lines.
BUT!!!!! It will take me a day or two just to convert this into hanks for dyeing, which will start on Saturday. SOOOOOoooo… if you skip over before Saturday morning to the Custom Order page and order some Knitterman’s Daily Fingering OR Knitterman’s Daily Lace, with shipping within the U.S., I’ll refund the shipping charges before processing the order. (Any hanks not spoken for by Saturday morning will be subject to my artistic whims and adventures.)
Once I get the BRS done and posted this weekend, the work begins on all those committed yarns Monday morning! Wheee!
