Do I need a Supervisor? Chaperon? Padded cell?
I think I may be losing it….
Knowing that today is observed as Veterans Day, at least as far as banks and postal service go, so I’m expecting nothing coming in, nothing going out.
I go into my emails, find the pending order for the 2nd batch of cubes for the Dicey Knitting, so I could get the tracking info and plan when to expect them. I click the tracking number, it opens up the USPS web site and it shows delivery two days ago. WHAT? No way. I’ve been here all day every day when the post man passes, and he ALWAYS honks when there’s a package.
Now, if you’ve been following me a while, you know I’ve had issues with the post office and getting this shipped out and actually arriving at their charted destination. But I’ve never had the USPS indicate a package was actually delivered here, to me, when I know damn good and well that I have the FIRST box of cubes, but not the second box. And he personally handed the first box to me, so I know he would let me know when the second box would arrive.
And then…. the second pot of coffee kicks in. The cubes are shipped in the small flat-rate Priority Mail boxes, about the size for a VHS tape. About the size that would fit in my mail box.
hmmm… but I checked the mail on Saturday, pulled out a bunch of junk mail flyers and some very useful coupons for Kroger. I did that just after returning from Kroger, in fact. In the late morning. But was that old mail from Friday, or new mail from Saturday…..?
Hmmmm…. lemme go check before firing off a *strongly worded* spewage to the USPS…
Well… WHATTAYAKNOW!!!!! There, in the mail box, was my box of cubes, delivered (apparently) later in the day on Saturday and I didn’t even see the mail carrier drive by. Of course, it rained Saturday, and it rained Sunday, and it rained a little this morning in the wee hours. So the mail (mostly junk) was moist.
<*sigh*>
Ahhh yes…so now all my cubes are in-house, and the little cotton bags for storage have been ordered and should be arriving shortly. I’m still expecting the bags before Friday, so ALL the current pending orders for the Dicey Knitting sets will be shipping out of here as soon as all the components are in-house. Yayyy.
And now, off to re-ink my stamp pad, get all the cubes laid out, and have a day of mass production.
