And so it begins… 2013 has arrived!
Last night I was fussing with an idea that simply refused to gel correctly. And then it somehow did what I expected and I began anew.
It is clearly (and deliberately) more than 180 degrees. I cinched the cast on tighter than I wanted for the end result, so I will rip it all out again, but that’s okay. And I can now see something else I want to do with it, and will probably go with a stockinette stitch for the final version, as stockinette stitch is slightly taller than garter stitch and I have a limited quantity of yarns with which to complete this project.
The trickiest part will come when the shawl itself is complete.
Huh! I just started something almost exactly the same – but with six gores, so it will be 3/4 circle, and I also started it in garter and ripped it out to change it to stockinette! Mine started it gray angora/merino mix that I had lying around from when I bought it on sale. It is continuing in black, and I think I’ll add some red, too.
