Jodie’s Tortuga!!
Earlier this week, while pressing forward on my shawl project, I received a delightful email from a sort-of stranger-to-me, but she is known to at least one of you… she writes:
Hello Ray,
A while ago you sent me 2 skeins of Primo Lace in the Drought color way. To my delight it was a random act of kindness from an unknown benefactor. I stashed it for awhile waiting until I came up with the perfect design for this luscious treasure.
Inspiration finally struck. As I’m a big girl I always start my garment designs by making a size small. After perfecting the design with two small sweaters I finally (FINALLY) finished mine.
As you can probably tell, I love it.The design is called Tortuga and is on sale on Ravelry. It will be available soon through the Knit Picks Independent Designer’s Program. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tortuga-2
I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated the gift. Please pass along my thanks to my benefactor.
Jodie (aka Queenie)
What a great design! If you click through to the Ravelry patterns link you can see that the design can be worked for larger AND smaller sizes! And the yardage calls for 1200 – 1900 yards (1097 – 1737 m). Whattaya know — that’s just TWO skeins of Primo Lace!
I don’t have any special arrangements to give the pattern for free with purchase, and wouldn’t want to take money from Jodie’s pocket, but if you show me a receipt for purchasing her pattern (it’s only $3.99 on Ravelry), I will give you $4.00 off the purchase of TWO skeins of Primo Lace. Fair enough? And, of course, they’ll be dyed together so they can be knit together.
Oh! and thanks to computer mishaps between then and now, I can’t figure out who sent Jodie the yarn (although after some thought I “think” I recall, but can’t be sure, and apparently it was sent anonymously anyway), so whoever purchased the yarn for Jodie — THANK YOU!
What a lovely gesture, and what a beautiful sweater! I has been looking at this pattern and it’s awesome to see it all done up in your lovely yarn.
Love this in Ray’s wonderful yarn!
That is a lovely lacy sweater all the nicer because of your laceweight yarn.!
