Challenge accepted; challenge met!
At least, I think it was met.
VE sent me a couple pictures:
and asked for a segmented yarn in this colors: reds, oranges, pinks. golds, dark reds and orangy-red. I ended up including shades of salmon, coral, and a smidge of pink.
This is what happened:
I tried to use the colors in the same proportion as in the pictures provided, and it seems on the reskeined hanks that there’s a lot of orange/golds, but when the hank was laid out it was less the 1/4 of the hank. You can still see the deep reds and other colors.
The largest challenge, which wasn’t actually discussed in consultation was how to capture the people with all their shades of blues onto the yarn so I left them off. 🙂
As I told someone on Facebook the other day: My job is to show you what I can do; your job is to challenge me to go a little further.
P.S. – even though it was a custom job, if you’d like to order an imitation of this one, just select “Custom” and then in Special Instructions write “Like Virginia’s wall art” — and feel free to specify more of this, less or that or whatever changes you’d like.
Wow! I can’t wait to see it in person!! Looks great!
I hope you like it.
I like this more than the Cottrell Rose…gorgeous!!
