“Mardi Gras” Clarification
Hi there, Knitterati! (reposting the YahooGroups Knitivity email)

I just received another order for the Mardi Gras colorway, which is great, and then she wrote a note that she understood it wouldn’t be coming until January. So I probably may have failed to communicate well and wanted to clarify.
Because the Carnival season leading up to Mardi Gras actually begins on January 6, giving 2 months for Carnival this coming year. Some people like to start wearing their Mardi Gras/Carnival colors (traditional purple, green, and gold) early in the season, although major festivities don’t kick into high-gear with the parades and big parties until the weekend 12 days before Fat Tuesday. (It is a Major Big Deal in New Orleans, and probably several other parts of the country.)
Anyway, in order to ensure everyone has their yarns in plenty of time to actually knit their goods before Carnival season begins, my goal is to ship all orders of Mardi Gras out of here by mid-November, NOT in January. I actually have some that are shipping tomorrow (all the Mardi Gras orders placed so far).
In order to meet that shipping goal, I will only accept orders for the Mardi Gras colorway through the end of October, and ship them out as quickly as I can. So if you were planning to knit up a scarf or socks in the Mardi Gras colorway, this is the time to do it. http://www.knitivity.com/ custom-dyes/
And, since I’m talking about planning ahead, In November I will be featuring Cherry Fade and Cupid colorways for Valentine’s Day in January, and probably something special in December for Easter/Springtime knitting. 🙂
