My first great-granddaughter was born yesterday morning — Amarra Rae-Lynn, weighing in at 7lb 6oz!
And, by request, I knit one of those popular “Boobie-Cap”, to be worn while the baby is nursing.
and here it is drying on an empty yarn cone:
I am hoping to soon have a picture of baby Amarra wearing her new little cap. 🙂 It’s going into the mail today, so if I get a picture I will share it.
It is fairly straight-forward, as far as caps go, just made more smaller, but some people were asking for a pattern, so I quickly wrote up what I did and how I did it. I’m not going to put it on the regular Patterns page — it is just one page, but it still took time to knit it up and document what I did. You are welcome to use my instructions free of charge, but if you wish you can drop some coin into the “Donate” button over there in the left column. No obligation to do so. Click here for the Infant Nursing Cap. I would, however, ask that you not freely print and share it around. Instead, invite your friends to come to the blog and get their own copy at http://www.knitivity.com/blog/. This will help me keep track of how many copies have been downloaded.
I hope you enjoy it.
