Next Hats
The hat I rushed to make over the weekend may or may not get sold. It came up a little large:
and because it is in cotton may very well stretch even larger. Here’s another picture of it, in progress:
The color blips were intended to be just peppercorns, like these:
but I got carried away. 🙂
A couple people have asked for a tutorial on how to to make peppercorns, so I’ll try to make a quick video of that later this week.
And as the rack yarns I showed you earlier this morning are still drying, and likely will be until tomorrow, I pulled out some random balls of worsted weight yarn that I KNOW is wool, and I’m going to make quick watch caps out of these, also to be for sale:
What I do NOT know is how long each ball will last, since some (maybe all?) are less than a full skein’s worth, so I may start with one and end with another, maybe insert solid bands of contrast, but they will be similar to the quick knit watch cap I showed earlier, except done as top-down, with a Turkish Cast-on (4), increase immediately to 8, then increase 8 sts every round until you hit 80 (so 11 increase rounds in total), alternating knits and purls into a 1×1 ribbing, allllll the way down until the hat is about 11 inches long. And that’s what I’ll be working on at least through the end of Wednesday. 🙂
