Finally got it where I wanted!   The Waverly Waves Hat pattern is posted to the Patterns page.

The 4-page pattern has line-by-line text instructions, plus stitch pattern charts as needed.   Designed for worsted weight yarn, it will fit an average adult sized head, but can be made for smaller children with sport or fingering yarns on smaller needles.
