We interrupt our regularly scheduled dyeing….
Okay, so y’all know i was carted off to the hospital a month ago, with chest pains.
And last Friday was the follow-up visit at the Harris Health System clinic (YESSSS!!! I finally got access to health care again), and they scheduled me for a bunch of other assorted future visits, including this past Monday for blood work at the lab.
I wasn’t supposed to see that doctor again until another month for follow-up. They called me today and told me they need to see me because some of my results came back abnormal. Soonest they could fit me in is next Tuesday. And of course they aren’t allowed to say on the phone what the problem might be. So I get to stew about it until then.
I figure it’s either something screwy in my bloodwork, but not cholesterol because they couldn’t do a lipid panel, OR something on the chest x-rays. They haven’t done the ultra-sound on my prostate yet, so I don’t think it is that (unless there was elevated PSA on the blood work), nor have they fully examined the other male related issue.
so, anyway…. for the next month or two, at least through the series of appointments and stuff, it will be an “interesting” ride. As one friend said, at least they didn’t call and tell me to report to the E.R. right now today, so it can’t be *that* bad… right?
Ray, don’t fret until they finally give you something definite to worry about. It may be something that indicates a mild problem that you can take action to put right. In that case, the call is a good thing. If it’s something a little more serious, it is known now and you have help to do something about it, another good thing. My dad always said not to hang crepe too soon because you could be wasting the crepe!
