Orange Shawl Continues
I’ve not forgotten it, just haven’t had time to knit a lot on it. But this is the current status of the shawl made on Knitterman’s Fingering in the Tangerine Quad colors. From center top to bottom it pulls out to 22 inches, so the top border is only about 44-45 inches. Not enough for a shawl, and I only have a couple more inches of knitting before I run out of yarn. I’m not going to add in any more ruching, but will likely just continue in the current pattern. What I am planning to do is to make another set of Quads, this time ranging from dark tangerine/orange, into browns. This set was made of a combination of yellow and salmon, so I’ll start with that and deepen the saturation, rather than lightening as I did on previous Quad sets.
I think you might want to go with the bright orange on your current row & go back toward the lighter shades. Then border all of it with the bright orange. If you go darker, it may become “muddy” and less attractive. Lighter will bring the “eye” back to a brighter orange border & whatever lace you put there. . . . Just some ideas.
Love your dye color-ways – – I still have some in my stash to begin to “knit-up” – – – wish I was 34 again & independently wealthy . . ..
