Washcloth is finished
A few days ago I showed the start of another washcloth, along with the pattern I was using:
I finally got done weaving in the tails today and I can now call it finished.
In the pattern, I suggested making the seed stitch field 55 garter ridges tall (as counted along the garter stitch borders). This actually produces more of a rectangle than a square. Perhaps a 45 ridge count would make a more accurate square.
I can see that I screwed up the cast-on bottom edge, and made a couple other mistakes that I missed along the way, so I can’t very well sell this as originally planned. So I suppose I now have a new washcloth for myself.
If you ever happen to find yourself in a position to get some Classic Elite “Provence”, 100% Egyptian cotton, you owe it to yourself to get yourself 2 or 3 balls in order to make this washcloth for yourself. 🙂
Another really nice cotton for fancy gift face clothes if Paton Grace. It gives great stitch definition & has a pretty sheen to it as well. I make these and wrap lavender soap in the cloth, with yarn ties as fun gifts for friends.
Could you sell it at “reduced” price, like a seconds or something? Or maybe make a contest of finding the mistakes and depending on how many you find, you get some percentage off?
