Wool Blanket Shirt?
Okay, this is NOT my video and NOT my original idea, but I came across it in my Internet wanderings and had some thoughts about it. First, the video:
Now, let’s talk. He got his wool blanket from Harbor Freight. I just checked, and their blanket is 80% wool / 20% polyester, and it now sells for $9.99. It measures 80″ x 60″, the exact same size as the top of a queen size mattress, so adequate enough but without any length for tucking into on a regular bed.
When I saw this video I was thinking this would be a cool charity project, making blanket-shirts for the homeless. Basic, rudimentary, but warm and more effective than just a loose blanket that gets wrapped around, dragged on the ground, etc.
BUT…. by following the instructions in the video, you could spring for a nicer blanket (maybe a Pendleton plaid?) and make winter wear. In this day and age of instant, cheap products, it may not become a trend-setter, but if you have leftover blankets, you could certainly adapt this idea for your own projects.
So, I’m just going to leave this here for your inspiration.
