Trust The Customers
A couple days ago I showed you this rack full of potential Quad sets, drying on the rack:
I wasn’t entirely pleased, because the darker ones in each bunch had splotching, and the Espresso had some red in the dye that didn’t dissolve until it got into the steamer so it looked less than what I wanted . I was considering ditching the project and just selling these as regular singles. But several of my regular customers said to pack it and sell it as Quads anyway and some insisted on putting their money where their mouth is. So, I forged on ahead. It is pretty much all I did today.
When I started this morning, this was the task ahead of me, turning each of 16 hanks into 4 mini-hanks each (64 total):
Even though winding a single mini-hank took only a minute or two, it was the tying off and securing each one that took just as long as doing it for 64 full-size ones, so it took most of the day. I did have to take breaks because of my feet and legs, but I got it all done:
I had considered labeling each one individually, but the process of tying and binding 64 hanks told me I did not want to also write and label 64 little labels. So, I prepared each Quad set, and will label the bundle appropriately as 4 Mini-Hanks, with 250 yards each of Merino Lace.
I have to admit — my customers know what they want, and they were right. That’s why I usually try to listen to my customers! And don’t these look marvelous!
And now, of course, besides being physically exhausted, I am enthused about the possibility of doing other combinations — and not just monochrome gradient Quads, but mini-hank sets of assorted combinations.
Many of these are already claimed and shipping out tomorrow, but there are still a few available for claiming:
As for pricing: each Quad set is the same yardage as a regular single skein (1000 yards total, 250 yards in each), and will be $25.00 per Quad set. I’ll keep a tally here in case you want to pre-order and you’ll know how many are available:
Espresso –

32 10 avail. – ALL GONE!Seafoam –

If you want to claim one or more sets, I’d recommend moving quickly to email me with how many of which one(s) you want.
But first…. here’s a little teaser about a project coming later in the week. Isn’t it cute! I’ll show you a prototype on Wednesday, if I don’t get to finish it tomorrow. 🙂
Yes, the teaser is adorable. Bunny, my cat, would also think so,
but would not wait for your next email. He would jump right into it.
I would please like an Espresso Quad.
Soon I hope to have photos of the first Quad I have.
Many thanks. PGP
