After dyeing these two new Quad sets, and then viewing them last night, I was full of doubt and disappointment. Just as they were done washing and rinsing, my neighbor set up a burn barrel and smoke was everywhere so I couldn’t hang the yarns outside to dry. I was not much impressed viewing them indoors, even though I know my lighting is sometimes weird.
But now I see them in the light of day, outdoors, I’m going to press forward and commit them to being the Quad sets I had intended. As with the others, there are uneven spots on some of them, even a few places the dye refused to strike at all — but when you knit with it, you can count on that nearly-bare spot to appear with consistency along the strand, so we’ll call it part of the pattern. 🙂
All of the Quad sets this weekend will be four quarter-hanks of 125 yards (total 500 yards), with one quarter-hank from each color in the set. Each Quad set is $30.00, plus s/h. I was aiming to get all the Quad sets done up and ready to ship tomorrow (today I’m packing all the BRS from the weekend — lots and lots there), so the Quads might not make it into the mail until Wednesday.
If you’d like to claim one or more of these Quad sets before they are reskeined and grouped, just email me and tell me how many and which ones. These can’t be exactly repeated, and there will only be four Quad sets of each group, so it is first-come/first served.
First is the Superwash Merino Fingering, bright blue, green, and pink — The Frivolous Set.
