Swirlytop Hat Pattern
I have just posted the Swirlytop Hat Pattern to the Patterns page for your enjoyment. As with all my patterns, I appreciate any errors brought to my attention. Whatever mistakes I’ve made (or any suggestions for improvements), I will be issuing a revised copy of the pattern after the first week. Everyone who has already purchased the pattern will automatically receive a new copy, so no one needs to be looking hither and thither for “Addenda”.
Swirlytop Hats
These fun hats were made from the same basic pattern, used in two different ways. Both were made in worsted weight yarn, and are fairly simple to make. The body of the hat is knitted flat and then grafted into a tube, and then the ribbing is knitted in the round. If you are uncomfortable with grafting, you can instead use a standard cast-on and bind-off and then sew a seam that will be hidden inside.
Your PDF pattern package includes charts and line-by-line instructions where appropriate. The knitter is encouraged to play with the basic technique and develop their own color schemes — for example, this would be a fun experiment with Shadow knitting to include hidden words or designs!
