Yarn in the House!
Wheee! You know it’s a good sign when he doesn’t park at the street, but backs the truck in!
and leaves a couple of LARGE boxes on the ramp for me. He was going to take them to the door, but I told him to leave it outside for me to unpack. You’ll notice two of my three helpers just lying off to the side being lazy!
Got it all unpacked and the packing list checked….
I put away the yarns I’ve used before (I already have separate bins for most of those), and then these are the 6 yarns I’ve not tried before:
Two of them are bundles of 10 skeins each, the others have 8-10 skeins per cone. I will be introducing them one at a time over the next week or so. The ones that get the most interest will be the ones I will likely re-order next time. 🙂
Today I will be dyeing “Tropic Sock” (which may be renamed if I keep it) — 60% Superwash Merino, 30% Bamboo, 10% Nylon — a fingering/sock yarn at about 430 yards apiece. Because it is a sock yarn, I will be doubling up and dyeing them with Phydlbitz as if they are a Twinset — one of each type dyed together in the same pouch. This way I can readily compare how the yarns compare. We are supposed to be having thunderstorms starting this afternoon, so I’m not sure I’ll be able to show them on the rack or not, much as I would like to. But there will definitely be some Blog Reader Specials to start looking over before the weekend is out. 🙂
