This discussion comes up every so often, so I thought I’d show the difference visually. First, winding yarn into a center-pull ball nearly always incurs at least some tension on the yarn and engaging at least some of its natural …Continue reading →
I have an opportunity (already funded this time) to purchase new dyes and a whole lot of yarn. I mean, seriously, a LOT of yarn.
In the last 10 years since I started dyeing the industry has changed — the products available, the types of projects people want to knit or crochet or weave, trends coming and going, and even lots of new dyers wanting to find their own niche in this whole big wonderful world of fiber crafting.
I value my customers, both the new ones trying my yarns, as well as those who have stood by me through the years.
In order to avoid the trap of simply doing what I’ve always done, I need to know what YOU want. In particular what types of yarn you enjoy working with.
Regarding the lace yarns, as you know my supplier discontinued their Merino Lace, along with two of their other lace weight yarns, so they now only have the base for my Primo Lace (80/20 Merino/Silk) and Indulgence (70/30 Baby Alpaca/Silk). But they have many different styles of fingering, DK, sport, worsted, bulky/chunky.
So tell me in the comments below what YOU like and would like to see more of here at Knitivity. EVERY crafter has their own opinion and taste, so there are no wrong answers. Just tell me what you want, and don’t concern yourself with what others write down.
So, the last 10 cones of Knitterman’s Lace I’ll ever get arrived this week. I dyed up the first 24 hanks for your perusal yesterday, and you can claim them here, or wait for them to go to the Blog Reader Specials page tomorrow.
These are all Knitterman’s Lace, 100% Merino, 1000 yards. Normally $26.00. Any that are claimed today (Sunday, 3 April 16) are $2.00 off, and your discount will be calculated on your invoice. Claim the ones you want with an email to me (not a blog comment, Facebook post, Ravelry reply, etc., — I’m posting in many places and cannot monitor them all, so just an email request, please), and be sure I know your location so I can calculate correct shipping.
There were a few orders from Friday’s post, calling for “packing material” of the Knitterman’s Lace — those will be dyed separately, to ensure they are not viewed before shipping. 🙂
#226 and #234 are the only Twinset done in this collection. I forgot to arrange them together on the rack.
