Yarn You Cannot Buy!
Sometimes I make mistakes, and sometimes I just have a bad dye job that doesn’t measure up to what I can accept.
I have recently been exploring dry-dye techniques, and for the most part it has been going quite well. And on many of the yarns, i’m getting a result I refer to as a sort of “marbling” effect, such as those that I showed last week on the 258-259 and 262-263 Twinsets — light and dark areas schmearing along the skein. I like that effect.
BUT on this Twinset I dyed yesterday, on 100% Superwash Merino fingering, I DO NOT like the obviously undyed parts. It just looks sloppy.
So I am going to pair these up with an unclaimed Phydlbitz Sock yarn ….
and make Tropic-Strip wrap of some sort. And, if luck is with me, those unfortunate undyed bits will work to my advantage.
So, while I can’t be happy selling the yarn as being up to my standards, I can turn the bad dye job into a glorious Something that maybe some one will want to buy. 🙂
I actually LOVE the look of those teals and purples – even with the ‘white bits’ lol
– and I have a pattern for a holey-chevron top I’m planning to do – so the ‘mistakes’ wouldn’t be a bother with it!
Throw them in a mailer with the Midnight Greens you have for me – and they’ll be perfectly well minded here 🙂
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would have these in a heartbeat if I had a Paypal account
Awww… thank you, Cheryl. You don’t need a PayPal account — I send out invoices via PayPal, but even without a Paypal account, you can pay from a credit card or even a checking account. Paypal handles all the details; I never get any financial information from anyone, Paypal just tells me a payment is received, but never tells me how it was paid. That keeps both of us safe. 🙂
