I mentioned previously it was coming. I’d used a few skeins for custom work first, but yesterday I was able to dye 20 skeins of 100% Merino, DK wt, 250 yards, with a suggested gauge of 5 sts/in, US 4-5
It has a ‘hefty’ and substantial feel to it, but that might be just my perception since I’ve been working so much with sock and lace yarns. It takes up dye fairly well, too, but it is not a superwash and has no nylon, so the dye tends to migrate a little more than I’m accustomed to.
Since we have a ‘weather event’ coming for Wednesday and Thursday, I’m going to say these will be ready to ship on Friday. It may be sooner of course, but it all depends on the weather over the next few days.
These are each $20. They were dyed as Twinsets, and one skein of each pair is rotated around so that you can see all the coloring available on both skeins of each Twinset. But, of course, no obligation to take both skeins if you don’t want them. Because both skeins are so similar, if you want one and it’s been claimed, I will send you its matching Twin if it is still available.
To claim the ones you want, just send me an email, and tell me which ones you want. The lightest section on 411&412 is dry-dyed with the Ecru dye, so there are small blips of reds and blues in the mix. #399-400 are a smoosh or schmear of purple and salmon. 🙂
ETA: All the unclaimed yarns have now been photographed and posted to the Blog Reader Specials page; click through to see which remain available at the time of your visit.
