Very Sport(weight)ing, indeed!

Well, well, well…. apparently a technique that works splendidly on sock yarns and other superwash yarns doesn’t produce the same results on BFL sport weight, since it is not a superwash wool.
The colors are definitely deep and rich but they blend and migrate a LOT more than on sock yarns. Even so, there are several people who will most definitely want these in their stash for winter mittens, hats, and cowls. 🙂
I dyed this collection this afternoon. All BFL sport wt., 330 yards each, and all of these were dyed as Twinsets and are so marked merely as a convenience. Where appropriate I have rotated one skein of each pair so you can see all the colors represented on both skeins of a pair.
These will be going to the Blog Reader Specials page tomorrow or Saturday — I currently have several dye jobs running simultaneously, so when these land on the BRS page will depend entirely on my juggling skills. 🙂
Anyway, they will be marked at $26.00 on the BRS page. Today and tomorrow (Thursday and Friday), you can claim them each for $22.00 apiece, preview pricing discount. Just make your selections and email me and I will send you a PayPal invoice. Be sure I know your shipping state or country so I can calculate appropriate shipping. Also, in order to save on shipping by combining requests, be sure to check out the Blog Reader Specials page for previously posted yarns still available.
An example of the strange dye would be the 541-542 Twinset. I used Spruce, Sky Blue, and Olive. The blue and olive went okay, but the Spruce didn’t migrate like other dyes, so there are some undyed spots. Normally this would really upset me, but I’m going to pretend it is melting snow remnants on the evergreen spruce trees. 😀
