It’s here! It’s HERE!!!!

I mentioned last week that I was ordering yarn. Normally I like to unload the boxes outside on the ramp and photograph the new load, but it is c-c-cold and rainy here, so I won’t.

This is what arrived last night: Each box (EACH one) is marked 53.0 lbs. For some reason when I saw the shipping and tracking come through, it didn’t fully click that each box would be that heavy.

Mr. UPS used a hand-truck to wheel it up the ramp. I grabbed the top one thinking I could just chuck it into the living room — nearly lost my balance, it was way more than I was expecting!
Just for size comparison, those are my big boy size 10 Crocs. Per the invoice receipt I paid for 150 pounds (149.96 lb) of yarn — if I go 4 oz apiece, that’s roughly 600 hanks.

I’ve done just over 775 BRS hanks (plus a wee bit of custom dyeing) so far in all of 2017 (almost 100 fewer than 2016). So you’re looking at yarns equivalent to almost a whole year’s worth.

I waited until this morning to unpack it. Here’s the first bundle that came out of the box. Three cones of Primo Lace. These are the largest cones, worthy of their own picture, next to a standard size box of salt: They are about 4 pounds each.

Most of the Not-Regular line-up hasn’t been given Knitivity names yet. I’ll see how well they sell before deciding to keep them regularly available.

I already have a custom request for some of the Superwash Merino Worsted, so that is what I will start dyeing tomorrow. Most of today will be about standing at the skein winder and creating hanks for dyeing. Obviously I can’t get them all turn into hanks right away, and I won’t get all of this dyed right away, either. After all, this is almost a whole year’s worth of work! 😀
