And Now the Work Begins!
In the previous post I showed all the amazing yarns that arrived on Wednesday. After finding places to store it all, I had one custom request for Superwash Merino worsted wt, so I dyed up all of those on Friday and yesterday.
These are 100% SWMerino, 210 yards apiece. I used a variety of techniques on these for different effects – some with wet dye, some with dry dye, some on wet yarn, some on nearly-dry yarn… each method creates a slightly different finished effect. For example, I really like the speckled versions on the second rack — nearly-dry yarn with wet dye makes the dye strike at the spot it hits, with very little migration. It allows me to put very small drops of dye, to create what looks like an almost pixelized color pattern.
These were shown to the Knitivity Insiders yesterday, and some have been claimed. The unclaimed yarns will be going to the Blog Reader Specials page tomorrow, and will be ready to ship on Tuesday.
To claim the one(s) you want, just send me an email, indicating the numbered items of your choice.
All unclaimed yarns are now posted to the Blog Reader Specials page.
