Well, blankety-blank!
After pondering the process for months, I finally broke down and dyed the sock yarn blanks I got a while back. These are NOT my normal Phydlbitz Sock yarn, but are 75% Superwash Merino 25% Nylon, 463 yards, 100gm. At least that’s what the label says on their wrapper. 🙂
These aren’t numbered yet and not ready for claiming. I need to put them into center-pull balls and properly photograph them individually for the BRS page. Each one will have two pictures: the laid out version and the finished ball. Several of these have already pulled out and begun ravelling, so I want to get them neatly done for presentation.
But you can see how they came out. 🙂
I think if I ever get a hankering to do sock yarn blanks, I’m going to pull regular hanks and then run them through the tube knitter, with adequate ravel cord at the top and bottom so the ends don’t pull out.
