Greens and other important colors!
So, in the last post I said I would be dyeing up some custom yarns like the picture shown. They are intermixed among the rest of the batch I dyed yesterday.
These are nearly all Twinsets, except for the four Singles on the first rack. For most of the Twinsets I have rotated one hank around so you can see all the colors within both hanks of a set. Most are self-explanatory, but for 367-368, I was aiming for “Cantaloupe Fade”, and came up with something unlike I’ve done before. And for 369-370 I was trying to create something like a milk chocolate fade, and ended up with an espresso-dipped dirty mint.
These are all Phydlbitz Sock — 75/25 Superwash Corriedale/Nylon, 430 yards — a very popular and durable sock yarn.
For those knitting adult-size socks, you’ll need to know that the ones with repeats will result in some sort of self-spiralling stripe. The shorter the repeat, the narrower the stripe:
- #355-356, as well as #358 and #360 are Schmears and won’t necessarily create a spiraling stripe
- #361-362 has a 36-inch repeat.
- All the others are on a 72-inch repeat.
These will be ready to ship by Friday. To claim the ones you want, just send me an email with your numbered selections, and if you’ve moved since your last order, or if this is your first order, please let me know your state or country so I can calculate the correct shipping/handling.
All yarns not claimed from the preview pictures below have been individually photographed and posted to the Blog Reader Specials page; click through to see which ones remain available at the time of your visit.
