Well, it’s about time, eh?

eta:  All the yarns that were unclaimed from Saturday have now been posted to the Blog Reader Specials page; click through to see which ones remain at the time of your visit.  Here is the group shot of the unclaimed ones.

I started off Thursday morning with grand plans for a terrific weekend sale.  And now the long holiday weekend is nearly one-third over, and I’m just now showing the racks for this week’s Blog Reader Specials.   One thing after another — dyes not striking right, other dyes coming up just ugly and needing to be over-dyed…. and just when I thought I had decent pictures, I brought them camera inside and realized I had to wait for the sun to just barely descend behind the other trailer so I didn’t get sunshine-and-shadows all over the yarns.

Anyway, I FINALLY got the yarns I wanted, and the pictures I wanted.  So… hurrah!!!!   And actually there are two more Twinsets that will be shown on the BRS page — they had to get the dyes re-set with another acid bath.

So, for now, we have 20 Merino DK (100% Merino, 250 yards) and 8 Phydlbitz Sock (75/25 Superwash Corriedale/Nylon, 430 yards).   These are all dyed as Twinsets, but you don’t have to take both hanks of a Twinset as they are marked for individual sale.   They will be ready to ship on Tuesday (Monday is a mail holiday).   Most of the Merino DK are solids or nearly-solids, although some (476 & 477, 478 & 479, 490 & 491, and 494 & 495) are either segmented or layered multi-color.   All of the Phydlbitz are multi-colors, including 500 & 501, which are black-and-charcoal two-tone fade.

To claim the ones you want, just send me an email with your numbered selections. All requests will be honored in the order of their email time-stamp — whatever your local time is, the email system adjusts for my local time zone, so it is fair for everyone around the world.  As always, these are mostly one of a kind and cannot be exactly repeated — especially the ones I had to over-dye with different colors to balance them out.

But, don’t they already like my page?

Just recently, Facebook has been sending me notices like these that I found in my Notifications this morning.  They are telling me that various people have Like or Loved my posts or otherwise reacted.   Great.   Most of them are names who regularly appear when they click on the Like under a picture or post.   And now Facebook is telling me that they can see future posts by inviting them to Like the Knitivity Facebook page itself, rather than just individual posts.

In Facebook, Liking a post or picture isn’t the same as Liking the Knitivity page itself.   If you go to Knitivity’s Facebook page, up at the top it will look something like this.  Under the cover photo (this week it is yarns cooling after dyeing and steaming) there are 3 boxes:  Like, Follow, and Share.  If it says Liked, you’re good to go, but also make sure you have selected Follow to be sure you get to see all my posts — or at least as many as the Facebook algorithm allows.  If you select Like and Follow, as well as interacting with individual posts and pictures, there is a greater likelihood that you will see more of my postings, pictures, videos, etc.

So…. I hereby invite you to LIKE the Knitivity’s Facebook page. 🙂

Camo? What Camo? I don’t see no Camo!

Okay, so that was a bad joke.   But anyway, this week I had a request for some “Forest Camo” on Phydlbitz Sock, so I made three versions.  Now that my client has selected the version she wanted, I can show all the remaining yarns.  Along with the three versions of “Forest Camo”, there are several other Twinsets made from various combinations of the colors I used for the Camo.

As you know I don’t normally name my colorways, mostly because I can’t duplicate most of them close enough to use the same name next time around.  But a couple of them I was amused as I dyed them…. like 447&448:

Or the Twinset 457&458:  As I was dyeing this pair, the thought in my head was: “The grass is always greener  … if you water it.”  🙂

For most of the Twinsets, one hank of each pair is rotated so you can see all the colors available on both hanks.  The Twinsets were dyed with the same yarns in the same steamer pouch, and are virtually identical in color and proportion.  If you are knitting a project with both hanks, I  do, of course, recommend alternating balls or hanks every couple rows to avoid unwanted pooling as well as eliminate the sometimes-obvious new-ball-of-yarn difference.  BUT… there is no obligation to take both hanks of a Twinset; they will all be listed individually with their presentation photos when they land on the Blog Reader Specials page.

These will all be ready to ship by or before Tuesday.  To claim the ones you want you may send me an email with your numbered selections.  Because I post in several places, I can’t monitor all those places, so the only fair way is to honor requests based on their email time-stamp, first-come, first-served.
