Well, POOP!!!
UPDATE: The manufacturer wrote back and told me the part I need to replace the motor. And it will arrive here (supposedly) tomorrow. Almost $100, which I really don’t have. Well, I had it but wasn’t planning to use it for a new motor. Ah well. Now I really don’t have it. 🙁

Knitterman is well-and-fully screwed. 🙁
The motor on my electric skein-winder died. I was rewinding the custom yarns and it simply does not turn on any more. At all. From any electrical outlet. 🙁
And even worse — I went to contact the manufacturer, and it seems he is on sabbatical “until Spring or Summer for health reasons.” Dammit. Seriously, his hand-crafted tools are simply the BEST, but I recognize his health is more important than my comfort.
I did take a chance and wrote to him asking about just a replacement motor that I could install on my own, but I don’t know how much even that would cost — I’m guessing a couple hundred bucks — IF he even has one sitting around in his shop.
I *can* do what I used to do — manually wind the yarns — but ohmahgawd that was not only tedious but physically wearing and much slower.
And I really don’t have money to replace the whole thing with something else.
Y’member I said yesterday (over on Facebook) I probably wouldn’t be making a new batch of BRS this coming weekend? Yeah, it’s a good thing I’d planned for that, eh?
If I need to find a new piece of equipment from somewhere else, I may need some help, but I won’t know that until I find out my current options.
