This is the beginning of the blanket project, the yarns for which I showed a few posts back.  I did a long-tail cast-on, using the blue as the ‘long tail’, creating a single blue ridge at the very bottom.  On the reverse side there are blips of blue, which I don’t think are as nice looking, so this here will be the front side.

I’m now at the point where I need to mount it on the knitting machine, do some increases on the sides, and start doing the machine work.   The blue will create dotted lines up the piece, and it will be much easier to do those on the machine – and I’m still not decided whether they will be straight up, or zig-zag.   First, I need to get the machine set up and ready to work.  It will probably need a good vacuuming first.   🙂
