New Yarns, plus some dye shots!
All of the yarns not claimed yesterday have now been posted to the Blog Reader Specials page. Be sure to click through and see which ones remain available at the time of your visit. Shown here are the group shots of the unclaimed ones at the time I was editing the photos.
I thought autumn had come to Houston, but apparently summer is trying for one last hurrah. :-/
Before I show the yarns I dyed yesterday, I thought I’d share a little “behind-the-scenes” for you. These are the 8 jars of dyes I prepared for yesterday’s dye session. ALL of the yarns I dyed yesterday came from these 8 jars. I had thought of doing wet-on-wet for some and then dry-on-wet for the rest, but it turned out I mixed plenty of dyes at the start.
When I got all done dyeing, this is what was left:
Not wanting to waste anything, but also not wanting to store small amounts, I remixed similar colors together! And this is why it is so difficult for me to exactly reproduce some of my dye jobs — I have no way to accurately determine the proportions of these remaining 4 jars, but they will be the start of what I dye next week. It’s also why I don’t usually name my colorways — each hank or Twinset is unique and can’t always be reproduced, and I would run out of names quickly!
Okay, onward to the yarns! Two dozen Phydlbitz Sock (75/25 Superwash Corriedale/Nylon, 430 yards) were dyed yesterday, all with a wet-on-wet technique, and all done as Twinsets, and all done in various combinations of the colors I showed above.
These will go to the Blog Reader Specials page at full price ($27.00), but for Saturday and Sunday, you can claim yours off the rack for $25.00.
To claim the ones you want, just send me an email with your numbered selections. These should be ready to ship on or before Tuesday. If you need a close-up of one or another, feel free to ask. 🙂
