Well, fiddlesticks. 🙁 Neither of my cameras is behaving. I have the After Hours collection all reskeined, and I tried to take pictures with both cameras (both my smartphone camera, and the new-to-me older camera a friend sent), but every picture is coming out way too light, so when I open the pictures in my computer for cropping/editing, they aren’t looking the same as the yarns I see with my own eyes. Even worse, in my image editor (GIMP) I can’t find the right setting to darken the images just right. I’m afraid if I post pictures of this collection, people will be disappointed in the yarn they ultimately get if they order some based on these pictures. My old camera nearly always took realistic as-if-in-person pictures, so what I see on my monitor is what I see when I hold the yarns, but that camera is now fully dead and my new computer tells me that the “USB device is corrupted” and the computer doesn’t recognize it. So I’m stymied what to do, or how to present the yarns for you just yet.
Fortunately (or not) I have a new one coming (by Wednesday), a newer model of the Sony CyberShot I’ve been using all these years. Inexpensive but sufficient for my needs and I trust the brand name. We shall see.
