Yes, I’m still here!
Hey, y’all! It’s nearing the end of March, which is when I said I was hoping to start back to work. Just over 9 weeks since surgery, and I am mostly-sorta-kinda well on the way to recovery. I was told it could be up to a year before I really feel “normal”, but that’s okay. I’m feeling LOTS better than I have felt in weeks past.
I can’t jump right in and start cranking out racks of BRS right away, as I used to. But I have some yarns pulled and ready to dye tomorrow for one of the custom jobs that have been waiting. It’s a small-ish order, but it will help me gauge how much I can do at one time.
Just after I came home from the hospital I got myself a standard walker and started minimal exercising. The walker was good for the types of exercises my PT wanted me to do, but in order to be able to get back to work, I would have to seriously modify how I work. I can’t be carrying bins of wet yarn around the house. 🙂
So, yesterday I received a Drive “Nitro” rollator! It will allow me to move bins of yarns from their soaking tubs out to the kitchen for dyeing, and then from the steamer to cool outside. How cool is that? Plus, once I get my stamina up, I can use this to carry groceries back from Kroger, and have a place to sit and rest along the way if I need to. 🙂
So! Tomorrow I will experiment with my dyeing processes and see how it goes.
This means I’m getting closer to being able to bring you more Blog Reader Specials! Yippee!!!
Oh Ray – I got this exact Rollator for my husband!! We’ve used is quite a bit & he really loves it. It makes it possible to get him out safely and make sure he doesn’t get over-tired! It’s cute & special & sexy!!!
