Mid-July and Superwash Sport Weight!
Hi there, Everyone!
I hope everyone remains safe and healthy in these weird times. My own recovery continues to progress and I am feeling more like the old me (pre-2020) with each passing day. The short version, for the newcomers here: I had a diabetic health crisis in the fall, and then had to have my aorta fully replaced in January, so it’s been an “interesting” time the last 6-8 months. Just glad I didn’t have to deal with that during the current pandemic. Since I am in several high-risk categories (over 65, diabetic, COPD/asthmatic, etc.), along with still recovering from surgery and health issues, I continue to strictly isolate as much as possible.
But that doesn’t prevent me from dyeing yarn, and I’m able to do a little more each week!
Last week I dealt with some custom dye jobs, and this week I was able to do a collection of Blog Reader Specials for all y’all here at Knitivity. As promised, there are no Phydlbitz Sock yarns this week — it is all Superwash Merino sport weight, 280 yards each.
When I started yesterday’s dye session, I forgot I wasn’t dyeing Phydlbitz Sock yarn, and I accidentally dyed the first two Twinsets (#111-112 and 127-128) in a technique more suited for creating self-striping spiral-stripe socks! But looking at them after the wash-and-rinse, I think they could easily be used for either knitting or crocheting some awesome scarves, hats, or other winter wear. Most of the rest were dyed as Splatter-and-Schmear or one or another type of Fade.
I selected a limited palette and used the colors in various combinations, so it is quite possible that you can select yarns from different Twinsets for interesting effects, like with alternating stripes or blocks of some sort. There are 10 Twinsets, and 4 Single hanks; as always, there is no obligation to take both yarns of a Twinset.
This collection will be reskeined and ready to ship on or before Thursday (probably Wednesday, but I’ll say Thursday in case I have a bad day in the mix).
Each skein of Superwash Merino, sport weight is regularly $27.00, but if you claim yours on Sunday or Monday (July 19-20) off the rack before reskeining for presentation photos, you can have your selections for $25.00 each.
To claim the ones you want just send me an email with your numbered selections. I’ll mark your selection off in the tally below, send you a PayPal invoice, and soon as the invoice is paid I will prepare your shipping label so that as soon as the yarns are ready to go I can ship them without delay. Be sure to check this tally record on the Blog page — I post notices in several places and can’t monitor them all, and ask that people check the Blog and then email me rather than messaging me in other venues. Once the unclaimed yarns are reskeined and photographed for presentation they will be listed individually on the Blog Reader Specials page, and this tally chart will disappear.
All of the unclaimed yarns have now been posted to the Blog Reader Specials page.
