Happy New Year!
I hope your New Year is starting out well. My only major resolution for 2021 is to do what I can to make this year better than last. Considering the events of 2020, both personal and otherwise, surely this year cannot be any worse, right? Fortunately my health is much improved over this time a year ago, and I have a plan in place for even better progress.
I had planned a double-size batch of Blog Reader Specials, and got one load done earlier in the week, but then Wednesday and Thursday were just plain wet and messy as the cold front moved in, and I don’t like dyeing yarn when it is raining. So, I only have one normal-sized collection to show for January 1, and will have another collection dyed later in the coming week.
These are all Phydlbitz Sock (75/25 Superwash Corriedale/Nylon, 430 yards), and most were dyed using the Melted Crayon technique I shared in the previous post. I was really impressed with how that technique knits up in the heavier yarn, so I wanted to see how it works on the sock yarn. I’ll leave it to you to knit up some socks or scarves or whatever and send me some pictures to share. I know which hanks I am most fond of as they hang on the drying racks, but I’ll let you decide for yourselves which is most interesting. 🙂
All of these will be ready to ship on Monday, when they are reskeined and moved to the Blog Reader Specials page at regular price — $27.00.
To claim the one(s) you want, just send me an email with your numbered items. I’ll keep a tally just below so you can see which ones are still available at the time of your visit. Once all the yarns are reskeined and ready for shipping or posting to the Blog Reader Specials page, the tally marks will be removed.
04Jan21- All unclaimed yarns have now been reskeined, individually photographed, and posted to the Blog Reader Specials page; click through to see which yarns are available at the time of your visit.
The next batch of Blog Reader Specials will also be Phydlbitz Sock, and should be ready before next weekend. I’m hoping I can stay ahead of things better this new year than I did in 2020. I am feeling almost 100% now, maybe 85-90% at least, and starting the year with a very modest exercise plan to help me stay on track to full recovery, and hope nothing gets in my way this year. 🙂
