What Happened??
So apparently Facebook is down. The idea sort of strikes terror in my innermost being, since many of you know I have Facebook open nearly all the time, and that’s where I do most of my Knitivity postings on the Knitivity page there, as well as loads of personal posting on my personal page.
Anyway, apparently the Facebook outages is a much bigger deal than just being out. I can’t be sure, but there’s all sorts of related stuff happening, all domino-ing. One report said that whatever servers control what WE see, those same servers control their internal security things, like employee badges and employee access to various areas; basically their own employees can’t get in to fix whatever the problems are.
None of that relates directly to Knitivity, of course, except when it comes to being able to quickly post pictures and comments that other Knitivity folks might be interested.
Meanwhile, I’ve taken advantage of the situation to start sorting through the workroom. I’ve made myself a promise to fill one trashbag a week with stuff that doesn’t bring me joy, things I won’t ever use, and wouldn’t waste my time trying to sell. Just ‘junk’, including a few random balls of yarns with my labels from over ten years ago.
On the other hand, I have found crochet hooks and needles, so that’s a good thing, right?
Anyway, I’m not going to fret much today over Facebook’s outage. as long as I have other access, I will find ways to stay in touch, even if I have to go back to Ravelry. 🙂
