A Little Extra Something
Happy Friday!
When I lived in New Orleans, I learned a new word: Lagniappe, pronounced “lan-yap.” It means “a little something extra.”
This is not my regularly scheduled Blog Reader Special notice. I think I mentioned last time that I was working on a custom job. I did it the first time and the colors weren’t quite as saturated as my client wanted, so I did it over and they were satisfied with the second attempt. I’ve never found great success in over-dyeing, so I worked a whole new batch of yarns. That left me with the yarns from my original attempt, which I offer you below.
The five solid Twinsets shown here are my first attempt on the actual custom job; the multi-colored Twinsets on either end were how I used up leftover dyes from both attempts. They all have the extra yardage and will be so marked on the labels.
These colors were specifically requested so they would work together in various combinations for my client’s special project, so if you see a combination you like, you are welcome to break up Twinsets and take one from each color. Of course, except for special discount offers, there is never an obligation to take both hanks of a Twinset, but I wanted to be sure to mention in this case it is definitely okay to break up pairs to create the combination you want.
To claim the ones you want, please send me an email with your numbered selections. I expect these to be ready to ship on Monday or Tuesday. I will spend the weekend reskeining and labeling these, plus the custom job, plus some other jobs instead of dyeing a regular weekend collection of Blog Reader Specials, which I will do the middle of next week. New yarn is supposed to be arriving later today, but I won’t have time to work with it until next week.
These are all dyed on Phydlbitz Sock, 75/25 Superwash Corriedale/Nylon. Since the custom job called for extra yardage to allow for making mini-hanks, these all have about 460 yards apiece, instead of my usual 430 yards. They will be marked at 450+ on the labels. And, they are offered at the regular yardage price of $27.00 per skein.
Available Yarns: 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90
