I had looked at the extended forecast and was led to believe today would be rainy most of the day. So I was concerned about being able to hang this week’s yarns and get pictures to show them today. Now, however, there’s only a minimal chance for scattered thunderstorms mid-afternoon, and one of the local weather folks said today was our last big chance for rain for the next week or so. Instead we will be treated to another week or more with temperatures in the upper 90s. Oh joy! (did you hear my snarkasm there?)
Anyway, I set off into the dye session wondering what to do and nothing really jumped out at me. I pulled some dyes I haven’t used recently along with a few staples I always use. I ended up doing several sprinkles, but not the same colors I used last week. There is turquoise (#617-618), a light teal (#619-620), and then a blue-and-gold splattered mix (#627-628); the apparent green on the last one is a result of the splattered mix.
There are some obviously autumnal colorways as well — #609-610, 613-614, and 625-626.
Twinset #611-612 is a schmeared mix of light teal and gray.
I’m not sure how to classify some of the other combinations, but they are all amenable to your creative impulses. I have no idea what may already exist in your stash, but many of today’s colorways would likely do well in combination with what you already have, thus creating an amazing blanket or shawl project — blocks or stripes, perhaps.
I will try to get all of these ready to ship on or about Tuesday.
To claim the ones you want, just send me an email and I will mark your requests off from the Available Yarns tally chart just above the pictures down below.
All Phydlbitz Sock yarns are $27.50 each, but for Friday and Saturday, you can claim any of them for just $25.00 each.
There is no obligation to claim both skeins of a Twinset if you only want one. You might find joy in taking one skein each from several different Twinsets. Because I normally work with a limited palette of nine dyes in each session, some colors appear in different ways on different Twinsets it is likely to find compatible colors. For example Twinsets #613-614 and #625-626 have the exact same red dye, while #611-612 and #619-620 use the same light teal. Twinsets #607-608 and #623-624 have the same purple and blue. Same colors, just used in different ways and sometimes different saturations.
