Not A Green Was Used
Happy Sunday!
Rain or shine, heat or cold, I keep dyeing yarns, and this weekend has an amazing collection of color, even though I had to work around the weather to do it.
Sometimes I will blend colors into a dye before applying it to the yarn. Knitivity Green #1 is one of my regular blended dye recipes. In spite of how it might look, I did not pre-blend any dyes in the jars this week; I just prepared straight dyes from the jars. Specifically, I did not pre-blend any greens. All of the greens you see this week were created on the yarns from a variety of my available blues and yellows/golds. In fact, no Twinset this week is a monochrome of a straight dye; they were all blended on the yarns or in the run-off collection vat, allowing most of the blending to happen in the steamer. Even the fades were made of blended colors. And I doubt I could recreate any of this week’s dye jobs in the future.
In spite of not using any direct greens, there are quite a few blended greens, some of which could even pass for camo colors. Camo socks are easily created with simple sock patterns, but if your hunter friends are having babies, they might appreciate a little infant blanket in camo-like colors. 🙂
Of course, any of these Phydlbitz Sock yarns would work for socks, but I think many of these would work well, either on their own or in combination with others, for shawls, scarves, or baby blankets. Especially the fades (#641-642, 645-646, 649-650, and 657-658) would look good in a scarf knit the long way, end to end, creating an interesting organic striped effect.
Phydlbitz Sock is normally $27.50 a skein, but for Sunday and Monday, you may claim any skein for just $25.00 each at preview pricing.
I expect to have these ready to ship on or about Wednesday, as is my custom.
To claim the ones you want just send me an email. I’ll mark your requests off from the Available Yarns tally chart below and then send your invoice. Please let me know if you are requesting international shipping so I can calculate your shipping charges.
