Yippeeee!

The Web host got things cleared up so I could upload stuff.   I’ve already updated the Yarns page.
This is what I was excited about:

These are the Lace and Down Home Sport yarns inspired by the APOD image of the Carina Nebula and now there is another picture there I want to capture, very similar [...]

Web site back???

According to my Web hosting service, they’ve had significant troubles with the shared hosting server.  BOTH of my Web sites have been inaccessible for much of the day.  Bummer.   I hope this gets to where it needs to go, so that i can post the COOL thing I did yesterday.

Hey LizzieK8!!!!

hehehe…. I knew that would get your attention.
The basic garter stitch square starts with 8 stitches in the middle, with a marker at each corner, and you increase 2 stitches at each corner every OTHER row, with 1 increase on either side of the marker.
The Swirly Square is also a garter stitch square, starting on [...]

Square?

I finished the square that I was making for a friend’s project:

There it is, washed and damp, next to the square marked out for blocking.   Mind you, this is the first time I’ve attempted one of these swirly square thingies.   If I do it again, I will do it smaller, and will do a [...]

Etisoppo Socks!

This is the progress of the Etisoppo Socks:

They are coming along nicely, but slowly.  I am debating whether to order either some Wooly Nylon to carry along or knit in for the top cuff, or getting some other sort of more elastic yarn.  I don’t like how the bind-off top edge sort of fans out [...]

Projects Updates

Some of these you’ve seen before.  These are what I’ve done this week.
This is the progress on the Opposite Socks:

And a little more progress on the Grey Shawl:

And this is what I did last night.   I had just dyed a bunch of the new yarns for the Down Home line, and was amazed at [...]

The Shawl in Gray

I mentioned the shawl the other day and then failed to show some pictures, so I took a couple this morning showing last night’s progress.  The first shot is with the flash:

and this one with the flash turned off shows the ridges a little better:

Every 6th row is an increase row; it’s the right-side round [...]

More Sneaky Peek!

Hey, lookie at this:

This is what I dyed today:   12 skeins of Down Home ArtYarns worsted, 12 skeins of Down Home ArtYarns fingering, and 4 skeins of Down Home Art Sock!
The two long ones at the bottom left, and the two long ones at the top right are the four skeins of Down Home [...]

Pssst! C’mere!

Lemme show you a sneaky-peek at this:

and this one, too:

Thats what I came up with today as I await the first preview order of yarns that will fill out the Solids portion of this line.
For those who are a little slow on the up-take, these are the tops of labels that will grace the newest [...]

New Yarns in the House!

Mr. FedExGround came today and delivered the new yarns for the new line of Knitivity yarns.  What you see in the picture is 12 long hanks of worsted weight, 12 long hanks of fingering weight, and five 1-pound giant hanks of 75/25 sock yarn!  Woo-hoo!

Now comes the testing phase:  does it feel as nice as [...]

Shawl time

I have been playing with some shawl ideas. Before leaving New Orleans I got the sampler pack of Palette yarns from Knit Picks. Apparently this is intended for Fair Isle type work–very thin, recommended for size 3 needles. I want to use it up, so I’m playing with ideas [...]
