Best. Feedback. EVER!

Well, maybe not the best ever written, but certainly one of the best feedbacks I have ever gotten. Christine bought some of the Biagio single ply wool that was on the Specials page the last of that particular set so her colors aren’t there any more, but other colors in the Biagio collection [...]

Let’s Go ‘Round in Circles

Okay, first off… another month has come and gone.   Yesterday morning I had to count change to buy a bag of chips.   A few minutes ago, another order came in (after several before it) just barely squeaking me up over into the “it’s okay to write the rent check now” range.  <*whew*>
I LOVE doing what [...]

The Mystery Bundle Posted

Barbara noted that the mystery bundle

wasn’t on the Specials Page. It has now been posted, so if you want this and don’t want to hassle with emailing back and forth over it, just go to the Specials Page, click the link and it’s yours. As always, first come, first served.
UPDATE:   SOLD!!! in less [...]

Fully Loaded!

The Specials Page is now fully loaded with everything I could find to post for sale, and nearly everything there is Three Dollars off.
Plus, I still have one of these remaining:

and it will go to the first person to speak up and claim it for just $24.00 (plus  $3.00 shipping).
And I still have one each [...]

Two Tone Chart

Hey!   y’member the picture I showed you last night?   (uhh… just scroll down a bit).
I was going to rush through and finish it and write up the pattern and so forth.   But that will take longer than I have available, so I went on ahead and charted out what I’m doing there.   It’s a basic [...]

A perfectly good mistake

Okay, so I have my favorite two-toned washcloth, that has been washed and bleached, and is faded.  But I still love it.
So last night (watching a Harry Potter movie) I pulled out a couple leftover balls of Biagio sport weight and started this:

I love the texture, love how it feels in my hand.  I’ll probably [...]

Just get to the point, already!

hehehe.
This morning I asked the LK-150 group if there was anything they’d like to see a pattern for.   One of the members asked about a vest pattern with a tuxedo front, the kind with the pointy tips on the two fronts.
This is my first attempt at doing it, but I think it came up okay:

if [...]

Shawl Pattern posted!

Okay, here ya go.   One pattern instruction, two styles:

or this

Get your download pattern from the Patterns page.
Mind you, it is more about the technique, since you can use any yarn and any needles. Just follow the step-by-step until it as big as you want.

Yippeeee!

nearly EVERYthing people have ordered (which was delayed due to the big order I was fighting with) has been packed and shipping out as soon as my mail carrier comes by.   Yippeeeee….
And the stuff on the Specials Page is starting to go as well.
I do have some more of the Merino/nylon yarn available if you [...]

Packing Day!

Wow….  feels like forever… dyeing, crying, dyeing, drying, dyeing, winding, crying, dyeing, winding, printing labels, sorting skeins, winding some more….
<*whew*>
This morning I’ll be hanging tags on yarns, packing them into various packages, and carrying them off to my shipping station.   However long it takes, that’s on the day’s agenda.
Did y’all notice I’ve loaded up the [...]

Done

Okay, so I finished the last batch of the big order.  It is in the steamer now, and the other stuff continues to dry outdoors.   I should be able to wind off those (and all the individual orders) tomorrow, while today’s batch dries outside.  Whee… catching up feels nice.
I’m going to have to be satisfied [...]

Dunes Socks

Okay, so y’all remember the Dunes colorway, right?

Well, Nancy just sent me pictures of the socks she’s been working on.    How cool is this?

The picture was supersupersuper dark, so I had to filter it, but the colorway shows up pretty cool, huh?
If anyone else has some Dunes stuff finished, send in the pictures to show [...]

Wheeee!!! MUCH BETTER

Okay, so I’m a neurotic fool, with emotional ups and downs.   Whatever.
I just burst and first-rinsed yesterday’s dyeings.   Oh, sooo much better than earlier batches.  Once I gave up the need to be perfect, and just let it happen the way it’s gonna happen, it is okay.  And actually, the colorings are rich and deep [...]

21 Apr

eeeeeee-NUFF!

So there!    I’ve done 30 hanks today, and I can guaran-damn-tee that what I deliver will not be *exactly* what was ordered, but it’s the best I can do.   I simply do not have the computer technology to spray one color of dye onto this bit of yarn, and abut it with a contrasting color [...]

Knitters Do It

Hey, do y’all remember those bumper stickers from a few decades ago…. like “Firemen do it with a longer hose”, or “Fishermen do it with a stiffer rod”, or “Actors do it by the script”?    Borderline suggestively naughty, y’know?
Well, I need y’all to help me come up with more for my list:
Knitters Do It

from the [...]

Starting over

Okay, I slept mostly sorta kinda okay, fixing b’fast now, gonna hit the shower and get dressed and get started into the day.   I feel better than I’ve felt in recent days, so maybe I’ll perform better today too.
Lots to do.    See ya!
Oh wait… I finished one sock last night and tried it on.   Uhhh… [...]

20 Apr

still in the wrong neighborhood

Okay, several months ago I posted a map showing where all the groups, associations, and activities were located where I would want to meet some like-minded folks for some intellectual stimulation.

The map shows my location as the blue star — miles and miles from the people I would want to hang out with.  Pathetic, eh?
And [...]

20 Apr

I’m gonna cry

goddammit.
I’m re-skeining the yarns that are  acceptable (30 skeins by the end of the day if the current batch is dry by this evening).  The circumference of the original hanks is nearly identical to my skein winder, which means even when I try to re-wind it to mix up the colors, it ISN’T FUCKING WORKING.
Goddammit.
And [...]

Win some, lose some

I’ve worked most of this week trying to fill a large order on the new Uptowne Road sock yarn in Merino and nylon.   Fuck it.  I’ll do my best to fill this current order because they’re a good customer and they helped me actually get this yarn in the first place, but I won’t be [...]

Apron? Whatever for?

Okay, so it’s almost 8:00p.m. and I’ve got the last of the day’s batches into the steamer.  Tomorrow I have to do one make-over batch, and start packing off the crappy batches.  Ugh!
These are the colors I did today:

aren’t they beautiful?    I know, I know, I really should wear my apron ALL the time.   Oh [...]
