Thinking out Loud

There are two projects in the works…
First up, Lisa has been working on a project reflecting “Addiction” and she’s looking for some really ugly nasty color(s) reflecting the rock-bottom pit of addiction.   She already has some other colors illustrating the brain-strain of chaos before giving in to an addiction, and the mental fog afterward.  She [...]

Tewwibow Toozdee? Wunnafow Wenzdee?

hehehe
Okay, so today was a glorious weather day, and I managed to get two steamerfulls done today (Hi, Joan…. Hi, Barbara!), with another one to go either tonight or in the morning, plus 2 more in the afternoon (Hi Colleen — yours bled crappy the first time so I’m doing it again).   Yippee!
And more yarns [...]

Okay, I did it!

I mentioned it yesterday, and now I’ve sent out the official announcement.   Get Ready to Celebrate Happy Thirdiversary!
I’m sitting here in awe of the fact that I’ve not drawn a traditional paycheck since April 2006.  And I’m wondering how I became accustomed to the spectre of running out of  money before I run out of [...]

(early) Happy Third-iversary!

Yeah, yeah… it’s not “officially” until Thursday, 1 October, but I’m coming up close to the end of my third year officially in business in Texas as Knitivity.    Wow.
If it weren’t for regular customers, and word-of-mouth advertising from happy customers, I would not have made it this far.   And part of me still can’t [...]

a lifting fog?

Wow…
Okay, so I finally managed to get scared into going to see the doctor, thanks to one of those free health screening tables set up at the grocery store.   The woman drew blood and did my b.p. and got majorly insistent that I should MUST see my doctor THIS WEEK.   So I found a clinic [...]

Just a few, but just as good!

Two-thirds of the way through the month already. Yikes!
But I do have a few more Blog Reader Specials for you. As per the regular fine print and details these are each offered at $22.95 apiece, first come first served. There are only ONE of each available, and each of these is NOT a regular colorway [...]

Yep! Still here

Just have a very weird week, and I’ve been disjointed, distracted, and generally discombobulated.
Working along on the Limberlost Trails, along with some dyeing and packing and wrapping.
Next week, I will be sidetracked somewhat on a ‘must-do’ knitting project.  My daughter’s best friend’s mother just had surgery for lung cancer (removed the entire upper right lobe [...]

What I did on my <*koff*> “day off”

Okay, so yesterday was Sunday.   Even though I really don’t have days off like normal people, I do try to set aside a day to do other stuff.   (For example, early Sunday morning is GREAT for making groceries, if I didn’t get it done during the week.)
Anyway, this is what I did yesterday.  First, I [...]

Who wants a bit of luxury?

Y’member a couple weeks ago, I told you about that super-teensy-tiny luxury Gossamer lace yarn?   Well, the customer got hers, and now I have some more.   These two are up for sale, dyed and ready to knit up.

and close ups:
(the blue AND the yellow are now SOLD

Each of these is approximately 6,124 yards of  Gossamer [...]

Books! Gimme BOOKS!

About a year or two ago I ordered this paperback set:

I ordered it through Amazon, but it was sent from a separate company.   I paid about $45-ish or something like that.
What I actually GOT was the hardbound version of just volume 3 (the blue cover).  I wrote to request a correction, sending me the 3-volume [...]

Oohhhh… you people!

Hahahahaha
I guess I’ve got y’all well-trained now, or something! Seems like you know exactly how to turn my head and tickle my fancy.
yesterday, Virginia sent me a link to a series of photographs from the newly repaired/updated Hubble Telescope, and pointing me particularly to the first in that series, what appears to be a butterfly [...]

Oh no!!!

I’ve been busily labelling and wrapping and packing and shipping… and today, Wednesday, September 9, I found myself writing yet another tag.  These are for things that have been dyed THIS past weekend.   And I just now today this morning realized I’ve been writing “5 Aug 09″ on them.   WTF?    This is NOT Aug it [...]

International duty? Please educate me

Last week I sent a package of a few skeins of Dura-Lace to a customer up in Canada.   I used my postal meter, connected with stamps.com, and applied the amount of postage for First Class International mailing, and it tells me which form label to put on for international mailing.
Anyway, this customer wrote to say [...]

Labor Day in the USA!

Today the majority of the working world will observe Labor Day.  I, on the other hand, will actually be laboring!  A small batch of dyes today, but almost allllllll the rest of the day will be reskeining the weekend dye jobs and making ready to ship tomorrow morning.  Lots and LOTS to ship tomorrow morning.  [...]

Not sure what to make of it

Late yesterday afternoon I posted the revised/updated Limberlost Trails pattern.
There’s about 100 +/- people who have rightfully acquired the original pattern, either through outright purchase or free with yarn purchase.
As of just a few minutes ago, the updated revised pattern has been hit 338 times.   That means that there’s a WHOLE LOT of dishonest people [...]

03Sep09 - another batch of goodies!

Wow… can’t believe I have another load already, but I do!
Don’t forget to read the fine print and details for how these work. Pick your item names/numbers, then email me. What I need to know is: which one(s) you want, and where you live (for Texas sales tax OR for international shipping, including Canada). I’ll [...]

Question about the Knitter’s Dozen Sock Yarn Club??

Recently while scanning incoming mails there was a question from a regular customer about those sock yarn hang-tags, and the ones that qualify for the Knitter’s Dozen Sock Yarn Club.  And I remember thinking, “Oh heavens, she must have a couple dozen by now!” …. and promptly forgot who it was and now I cannot [...]
