So Far, I Like It!

Knitivity Posted on 23 July 2012 by Knitterman23 July 2012

As I start the day, and new week, I have a couple things on my To-Do list.  Most importantly, of course, I have to post the page where you can order custom-dyed yarns.  I mean, that’s my only income, so it’s stupid to not have that page up and ready, right?

I was surprised that the DNS numbers propagated throughout the Internet so quickly, and yesterday’s change-over caught me up short.  But so far, I am liking it. I won’t try and explain routing and hubs and caches and mirrors, but I’m glad it all works so quickly.

I installed the Akismet package to eliminate spam comments — and boy-howdy, what a difference!  I used to have several HUNDRED comments a day on the Knitterman blog, nearly all of it was junk. Now that the comments section is moved, most of the automatic comment-fillers haven’t found the new location, but I appreciate not having to deal with so much junk taking all my time.  I love comments from real people, and my system is set up so that I have to approve comments from new people, but once a person has made a legitimate comment (proving they are real people and not bots) and I have once approved them, they can make future comments and those will appear immediately.  Like, now that CB has made a comment, and it’s been approved, she can comment freely in the future.

Also, the new hosting package includes more extensive spam filtering for my email as well.   YAYYY!!!

Anyway, time to eat some breakfast and get into the day.  Lots to do and always lots to catch up on.  Gotta make the money so things can move out of here and then I can buy even more yarn.

Testing a process

Knitivity Posted on 22 July 2012 by Knitterman22 July 2012

Okay, so I’m testing to see if (something that I did) will actually work.   If it works, I will see this being automatically posted to a couple other places.

As long as I’m here, I might as well write something …. I threw 1-1/3 cups dry rice into the rice cooker with 3-1/3 cups of water, plus about 2 cups of frozen mixed vegetables.   Should come up most and yummy for supper.  I hope.

By the way… if the think I am testing works, I will ultimately delete this post as it will have done its job.

Shorty McRippleton still needs adoption!

Knitivity Posted on 22 July 2012 by Knitterman22 July 2012

I almost forgot — the Shorty McRippleton still needs to be adopted also!  It was $65.00 over on the Etsy page (and you can certain use that link if you want to pay that much for it!), but if you email me  today, you can have it for just $50.00 (+s/h).

Or you can purchase the pattern from the Patterns page (see link in the main bar above).

A Day of Changes

Knitivity Posted on 22 July 2012 by Knitterman22 July 2012

I am not entirely happy with the look-and-feel, so please bear with me as I find a theme I can readily edit to my own liking.

edit.   testing to see if the sharing buttons actually show up here.
