Dura-Lace may take longer as a special production item. Yarns will be dyed using my standardized recipes, but each is an individual creation and so some variations will occur. Custom Dyes and AlterationsNow, you can have custom dye jobs like this:
Truly Custom: Same price as regular socks. All I need is a clear digital picture of what you want. But please, don't send a picture of the forest and ask for yarn like the flower at the base of the third tree from the left -- just send me the picture of the flower! Or the blue of your grandchild's eyes. Or whatever else tickles your fancy! Custom orders are prepaid, same as all orders above. Modifications: OR, you can request one of my regular colorways to have a "little less of this, a little more of that" -- I don't normally dye until an order is placed, so if you almost like something but not quite, it is possible to play and manipulate color before it hits the yarn! What about Team Colors?NOW THROUGH THE END OF JULY: Any school color combination request, if I can dye it, will be 10% off the regular Sock Yarn Price. Not all color combinations can be successfully dyed without bleeding, but if I can do it, you'll be able to have your school colors on Sock Yarns this fall. Just write and ask me about your favorite combination, and I will do my best to make you happy. EXTRA BONUS: Order 10 or more at one time, in any combnation of various schools, get additional 5% off the total of the order. This is GREAT for those with kids in different schools! All discounts are confirmed first by email, and are shown on your PayPal invoice at the time the order is placed. I've done intepretations of the New York teams (Jets, Mets, Giants, and Yankees), Ohio State, and some Arizona colors as well. Some are suited for the regular line up, some aren't. (Like the YouNork Mets also works for Denver Broncos fans!) I do not try to exactly duplicate any official team colors -- many of these are specific Pantone colors, and the combination is protected by licensing rules for "official team paraphernalia". But what I CAN DO is to interpret the team colors in such a way that any true fan should be able to recognize the colors. Also, to avoid ugly migrating/blending of dyes, I use my own technique or pattern for applying the selected colors to the hank of yarn, so that there is essentially a 50-50 combination. I do leave a small white (undyed) space between the color application to further minimize blending effects. "Some" colors simply can't be worked together and just make a horrid mess, but most combinations I can make a suitable fascimile. How do I get Team Colors? Easiest way is to just ask. Tell me which team, and which colors you wants (maximum of 2 colors), and how many skeins you need. |

What About Solids?In order to accomodate combination/contrast knitting, I will be happy to dye up semi-solid colors to match your choices above. Simply email me your request BEFORE placing the order to ensure the color you want can be dyed by itself. You MUST order at least one of the regular hand-dyes, or a custom dye job when requesting a coordinating semi-solid. For each regular multi-color skein, you can order one half-skein of a single color for $13.50. Or if you can order a full size semi-solid skein at the regular price. Each semi-solid will be hand-dyed with the rest, and will be nearly entirely completely solid, but as a hand-dyed job it may reflect some minor color variations along the strand. They need to be ordered at the same time in order that the color of your semi-solid is from the same dye batch as the regular colorway it is intended to coordinate with. |
