Remember Shorty McRippleton?
Many of you will recall the Shorty McRippleton scarf, which I knit up last season to show off the Falkland Superwash Sport yarn (which is no longer available, btw).
Now that autumn breezes are beginning to blow even here in Texas, many of you may be now regretting you did not claim the original scarf for your own when it was first available.
The good news is that nobody else claimed it either! Yes, that’s right — it is still available!
This is an easy-to-knit pattern, and can be done either all knit (forming garter ridges) or stockinette as the original model was done. This is wonderful technique for using up leftover variegated yarns, changing yarns at each repeat, or after each 8 repeats as I have done on the model.
You can get the pattern immediately here on the Patterns page, where it was marked down from $7.00 to just $4.50. Heck, anybody with a clever mind would pay that just for the technique, which can be used for blankets, hats, and even form-fitting garments like sweaters and skirts!
But back to the finished model scarf: It was knit with Falkland Superwash sport, so it will be easy-care, and the vibrant colors will allow it to be worn with a broadly-hued wardrobe. It was fully hand-made by me.
This is one of those treasures that if you don’t want it for yourself, you probably know someone who will squeal in delight during the holiday gift-giving season. There is only one shop model available, so it has to be first-come, first served. If you are an International shopper, PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR SHIPPING RATES FIRST — I can get you a less-expensive rate than going straight through the PayPal process.
Meanwhile… I’m waiting on two different orders for special yarns for a couple of custom orders — i was able to order enough extra yarns so that I can play and see if I like working with these yarns. The extras will be posted as BRS yarns when they are available.
Speaking of BRS yarns — there are a few remaining that I really do need to move out of here. Not only do I have bills to pay, but having unsold items really stifles my enthusiasm and that in turn really squashes my creativity and ability to come up with even more cool goodies. It would be awesome to have the BRS move, and even more awesome to get some custom orders with new challenges — school colors, perhaps, or something to remember the markings of a beloved pet…?
