Channelview Sunset?
Among the randomly dyed skeins of the wool-rayon laceweight was this lovely skein:
It reminded me of growing up in Santa Barbara, near the cliffs on the Mesa. We could look across Santa Barbara Channel to the Channel Islands. This particular blend of colors reminded me of the amazing sunsets we could experience there.
So I’m thinking this needs to be a regularly available colorway: Channelview Sunset. It reskeined to look like this:
There is one issue I have to resolve before making it part of the colorways. The rayon content did not take up the dyes at all, so these colors are not nearly as rich as would come up on a regular skein, but instead has a glorious sheen to it. This skein is lovely, of course, and on its way to Canada for its new owner. But I want to try it on my regular yarns before offering it up, so I will be doing one of the unclaimed yarns over the weekend to try a sample on either Phydlbitz Sock or something else.
But in the meantime, there are still plenty of other available skeins on the Blog Reader Specials page.
