A new batch of Primo500!
I had planned on doing some half-size skeins of Primo and a dozen and a half of something else. When I went to get the ‘something else’ I discovered that what I’d planned on was not what was in the bin, and what I found was not what I wanted to dye today. So I only did 18 short hanks of Primo Lace – 80/20 Merino/Silk, 500 yards each (normally it’s 1000 yards each).
But it’s okay — on my walk to Kroger this morning I was pondering how to dye them without just making my regular Twinsets. After all, these are half-hanks, so a Twinset would be the same as a normal hank. Lucky for me, I am (sometimes) a clever chap and I figured out how to use a limited palette in different ways so that no two hanks or identical and nearly every hank can combine and play nicely with at least one other. That means these will be excellent for the popular Fade shawls and cowls, in several patterns these days 🙂
Most of them have a base dye and then an overdye to create a unique color. They cannot be repeated, so if you see a color you like, you should grab it while you can.
Plus, of course, these will work for nearly any laceweight pattern – 500 yards is plenty for many styles of scarves, cowls, capelets, collars, etc. They are approximately 50grams each, half the normal hank of Primo Lace.
These should be ready to ship by Monday, definitely by Tuesday.
