Blues and Other Famous Colors
Happy Saturday!
It will be another scorcher today, but the long hot spell should cool off a wee bit with rains forecast for the whole coming week. Yayy!!
I got all psyched up and mentally prepared for this weekend’s collection and decided to “go blue.” I pulled out almost all my blue dyes, along with violet, purple, gray, and black. I did the whole first batch in various combinations of these colors. Then I brought out some other colors and did what I could with those. I still firmly believe there are no truly ugly colors, just sometimes you get some unfortunate combinations. Fortunately, I don’t think I made poor choices this time. 🙂
All of these are Phydlbitz Sock (75/25 Superwash Corriedale/Nylon, 430 yards), and will be $27.50 when they go to the Blog Reader Specials page early next week. For today and tomorrow (June 25-26), you may claim any of this new collection (#535 – 558) for $25.00.
These were all dyed as Twinsets, and I have rotated one skein of each pair so that you can see the color distribution. There is no obligation to take both skeins of a Twinset; in fact, I think sometimes it is fun to mix-and-match from different Twinsets to work up your own unique ideas.
Also available this weekend, I have processed a small collection of UNdyed Phydlbitz Sock. Processing includes the pre-dye soak, then the steaming, rinsing, and reskeining. Someone asked why I process the yarns if I’m not going to dye them. I do this so that when a customer gets an undyed yarn from me, the undyed yarns are ready to knit and will work to the same gauge as my dyed yarns. There is a noticeable difference in the yarn straight off the cone versus after being processed, and I want my customers to be able to use the yarn straight away without having to process it on their own. I processed 8 of these hanks, and 6 have been claimed. The last two are available at $19.25 for this weekend, first come first served.
To claim the ones you want, send me an email with your numbered selection. I’ll send you a PayPal invoice, and upon payment I will purchase and prepare your shipping label so I can ship your yarns when they are ready.
I expect to have all the yarns ready to ship on or about Wednesday.
