In the last post I showed a picture of some of the yarns after spinning out excess pre-dye soak solution. Somehow my washing machine decided to do a Rinse-and-Spin instead of a plain Spin, even though I had carefully selected the Spin cycle.
Dyeing them was a challenge, and I was able to get some of the skeins neat enough to dye as my normal Twinsets, but some were just too tangled to dye in my normal manner, so they were mostly dyed as solid colors.
Once they were all dried, I tried to reskein them on the electric skein-winder, but quickly discovered that the jumbled yarns needed manual reskeining and frequently detangling. A couple of them I had to manually finesse all along the strand onto the skein-winder, and then do it again from the swift to the skein-winder to make a neat skein. The important part is that I got it done, and only one skein popped during the process. It simply broke as the skein-winder was pulling and the tangle toppled the swift and then the yarn broke. Fortunately it broke in such a way that the ends were easy to find and rejoin. I hate doing that, but one does what one must.
Anyway, shown below is the collection of yarns that were not claimed over the weekend. They have been individually posted on the Blog Reader Specials page. Normally, each skein is $27.50, but if you claim any two or more today or tomorrow (Wednesday or Thursday) I will take 15% off your order.
